Insulin in use can be stored indoors in a cool place. Bottled insulin that is in use during bottle opening is stored in the freezer for about 3 months.
1. Insulin should avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight.
2. Insulin that has not been opened should be stored in a refrigerator or refrigerated container at 2-8 ℃, and insulin that has not been opened should be used before its shelf life.
3. The shelf life of opened insulin stored in the refrigerator is generally one month, indicating the opening time.
4. Remember not to put insulin in the freezer layer. Frozen insulin cannot be used and can only be stored in the freezer.
5. Before injection, remove insulin from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before injection.
6. Injecting pens with insulin refills should not be stored in the refrigerator, only in a cool place.
7. When traveling by plane, insulin should be carried with you and not placed in checked luggage.
